As the author of this blog I feel it’s necessary to say a few things about myself so that the readers know that they are not just reading random bicycle malarkey. My name is Ben Tignor and I was born in 1983. I live in Atlanta, GA and graduated from Georgia Tech in May of 2007. Since the age of 5 I have had a number of bikes. Everything from BMX, mountain, trials, and yes, road and track bikes. I currently own three bikes and typically ride each of them at least once a week. Seeing that I’ve been riding and maintaining bikes for over 18 years, I feel I may have some beneficial and useful info/tips for others and thus the creation of this blog.
Happy cycling!
hey it looks like your road bike is painted a solid colour. did you strip the paint and paint it yourself? i am looking to do this to my steel frame road bike. do you have any suggestions on reading material for how to do this?
My bike was actually already that color. From what I hear, the easiest way to remove paint is to use some liquid chemical that will eat the paint and make it like paste then you can just wipe it off. Not sure what its called but if you go to Home Depot/Lowes or the like and ask them they should be able to direct you. I know lots of BMX kids paint there bikes, try searching some BMX forums for re-painting info.
